Every dynamic QR code carries a short URL, and that URL is printed — visible to anyone who looks before they scan. A branded domain makes it yours: codes print as qr.yourbrand.com, the trust of the scan accrues to your name, and no third-party shortener sits between your packaging and your customer.
It matters more than it looks. A scanner deciding whether a code is safe reads the domain; enterprise security teams flag generic shorteners; and a brand that prints someone else's URL on its own product is renting the most visible inch of its packaging.
Add a CNAME pointing your chosen subdomain at us and two TXT records to prove control — the dashboard shows all three exactly as your DNS provider needs them. Certificates issue automatically; most domains are live within minutes.
Each code is stamped with its domain at creation, permanently. Re-download the artwork in two years and it reproduces the exact URL already in the market — a re-brand changes what new codes get, never what printed ones say.
Our default domain quietly answers for every code as a fallback, so a branded-domain DNS mishap degrades to our URL resolving the scan rather than a dead poster. And the domain remains yours at the registrar — if you ever leave, we hand over a continuity file mapping every printed URL to its destination.

Questions
Never — your DNS stays wherever it is. You add one CNAME and two TXT records, and you can remove them yourself at any time. The domain being yours is the point, not a complication.
Reachability pauses while the domain is disconnected — reconnect it (the same records) and every printed code recovers completely, because nothing about the codes themselves changed. Nothing needs re-printing or re-issuing.
