Solutions · For the menu on the table

QR code menus for restaurants & cafés

A menu QR code fails in one of two ways: it points at a PDF nobody updates because updating means reprinting, or it points at a link shortener that expires with somebody's free trial. Both end the same way — a customer holding a phone at a table, looking at the wrong prices.

The fix is to make the printed code a setting instead of a fact. The laminated card on the table encodes one short URL, permanently; where that URL goes is a field you edit from your phone in the kitchen. Tomorrow's menu, tonight's specials, the festival card for one weekend — same print, new destination, live on the next scan.

The playbook

Step 1

One code per table, repointed daily

Create a dynamic code per table or one per venue, print it into your stands, and repoint it whenever the menu changes. The change takes effect in seconds — there is no cached yesterday's menu, because the redirect is resolved live on every scan.

Step 2

Wi-Fi that works when the internet doesn't

The Wi-Fi code should be static: the network name and password are encoded straight into the grid, so a phone joins even when your connection is down — which is exactly when everyone asks for the Wi-Fi. Static codes are unlimited on every plan.

Step 3

Folders per location, hours per table

A folder per branch keeps fifty tables sorted, and the analytics show scans by hour and by code — so you learn that the window tables scan the lunch menu and the bar scans the drinks list, from data rather than guessing.

Questions this buyer asks

What happens to the menu code if we redesign the menu?

Nothing happens to the code. You update the page or PDF it points to — or repoint it at a new one — and every printed stand shows the new menu on the next scan. The print outlives every redesign.

Do customers need an app to scan?

No. Every phone camera made since about 2017 scans QR codes natively — point, tap the banner, and the menu opens in the browser.
