Solutions · For codes that ship on product

QR codes for product packaging & retail

A code on packaging is the least forgiving print there is. The run is tens of thousands of units, the artwork is approved once, and whatever the code points to has to stay right for as long as a single box sits on a shelf — which is years, not campaigns.

So the code has to be dynamic, and the operation has to be bulk. You don't create packaging codes one at a time in a form; you bring the SKU spreadsheet, import it, and get a code per row — named, foldered, tagged — ready to place into artwork as vector files that stay sharp from a hang-tag to a shipping carton.

The playbook

Step 1

The spreadsheet is the source of truth

One CSV import creates the whole range: destination, name, folder, campaign tags and even a passcode per row if a line needs gating. Import limits scale to a full print run — a Business workspace imports 2,500 codes in one file.

Step 2

Repoint the line, not the box

When the campaign page moves, the regulation changes, or the manual gets a revision, you repoint the affected codes and every box already in the market follows. Nothing is reprinted, nothing is recalled, and the change is live on the next scan.

Step 3

Vector files a print house accepts

Download SVG, PDF or EPS — the same artwork in each, drawn from the same geometry. A code placed at 12 mm on a label and 120 mm on a carton is one file, not two exports that might disagree.

Questions this buyer asks

How small can the code be printed?

It depends on scan distance and the amount of data encoded. Our short URLs are deliberately 26 characters — one character under a QR version boundary — so the grid stays at 25 modules per side and each module prints larger at the same physical size. As a rule of thumb, 12 mm works for in-hand scanning; test a proof before the run.

Can we check what a code points to before printing?

Yes — every code's destination, folder and tags are in the library and in the Excel export, and you can scan a proof with the built-in scanner. Destinations are also screened against Google Safe Browsing when written and re-checked nightly.
