PIXELQODE vs QR Tiger

QR Tiger is one of the most popular QR generators on the internet, with a genuinely cheap way in and a long feature list. If your need is a handful of codes at the lowest price, they may honestly be the better buy — and we'd rather say so here than have you discover it resentfully later.

The comparison sharpens at the point where codes go to print at volume: what's metered, what happens to live codes when a subscription changes, and who answers for the URL on ten thousand boxes. Their published tiers change often — verify current numbers on their site.

Where QR Tiger is strong

Where QR Tiger is genuinely strong:

  • The cheapest serious entry point in the category — their low tiers cost less than ours, full stop.
  • A very wide spread of code types and campaign gimmicks (multi-URL, app-store routing, file codes) accumulated over years.
  • White-label options appear at mid tiers rather than being enterprise-gated.

No scan caps, at any price

QR Tiger's free and entry tiers cap scans per code or per month at the time of checking; ours never meter scans on any plan. For print, this is the whole game: a capped code on paper is a countdown you can't see.

Permanence you don't have to re-read the terms for

Ask any vendor precisely what happens to live dynamic codes when you cancel or lapse — reports about deactivation policies differ, so get theirs in writing. Ours is published: statics work forever by construction, your data stays downloadable, and a continuity file maps every printed URL to its destination on the way out.

Built like infrastructure, and documented like it

Redirects answer from a purpose-built edge service engineered to degrade to a slower scan rather than a dead one, destinations are re-screened nightly against Google Safe Browsing, and the backup restores itself into a scratch database every night before it's trusted. We publish these mechanics because a printed code is a promise.

An honest dashboard, not a bigger one

No IP addresses stored, unique visitors counted without profiling, and retention windows stated per plan up front — including exactly what detail expires when. Fewer toggles than QR Tiger; every number defensible in a meeting.

Choose QR Tiger if…

  • You need a few codes at the lowest possible price
  • You want the long tail of campaign code types and gimmicks
  • White-label matters to you at a mid-tier price

Choose PIXELQODE if…

  • Codes are going onto print runs where a scan cap or a policy surprise is unaffordable
  • You want unmetered scans, stated permanence, and a documented exit
  • Team roles, branded domain and privacy posture matter to the buyer signing off

Questions to ask any QR vendor — with our answers on record

Are scans metered?

Never, on any plan. A successful campaign should never be the thing that breaks your code or your budget — we meter how many dynamic codes you hold, not how well they perform.

What happens to live codes if I cancel?

Static codes keep working forever — they never depended on us. Dynamic redirects eventually stop resolving on a lapsed account, your data and artwork stay downloadable throughout, and on request we produce a continuity file mapping every printed URL to its destination so another provider can take over. Ask every vendor this question; the answers differ more than the pricing does.

Do you store scanners' IP addresses?

No — there is no column to put one in. Location is resolved at the network edge and discarded; unique visitors are counted with a one-way daily digest. Most analytics-heavy platforms cannot answer this question with 'zero'.

What does a team seat cost?

Nothing per seat — team roles (admin, editor, view-only) are included from the Scale plan at $49/month.

Which tier gets a branded domain?

Business, at $199/month — with monthly billing available, not annual-only. Codes print as qr.yourbrand.com, and the domain stays at your registrar.

QR Tiger features and pricing are described from their public materials as checked in August 2026; tiers and limits change often, so verify current details on their site.
